Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical procedures, ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance companies, and maintaining patient records. This is a vital role in our healthcare organization, as you will play a crucial part in ensuring accurate and efficient billing processes.

Responsibilities:

- Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services using ICD-10 and other coding systems

- Submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by paper submission

- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials to ensure proper reimbursement

- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve billing issues and discrepancies

- Verify patients' insurance coverage and eligibility

- Process payments from insurance companies and patients

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the medical billing system

- Adhere to all relevant legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements in medical billing practices

- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure accurate coding and billing practices

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role

- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10), and billing procedures

- Proficiency in using medical billing software/systems

- Familiarity with medical collection processes and procedures

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills:

- Knowledge of medical office operations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
